BiCon 2011 in Leicester: 1st-4th September 2011

BiCon is an annual long-weekend gathering for bisexual people, their friends, partners and anyone with a supportive interest in bisexuality. There are discussion groups and activities all day and social space and entertainment in the evening.

BCon 2011 has happened and is over! See the BiCon 2012 website for details about next year's event.

BiCon is a community event run entirely by volunteers and aims to be accessible to everyone who would like to attend. Ticket prices are on a sliding scale (based on your income), with day tickets available from £10 (unwaged). We also have an Equality Fund to help people who might not otherwise be able to come to BiCon.

BiCon 2011 was the 29th conference/convention for bisexuals in the UK organised entirely by volunteers. It also started on the 30th anniversary of the launch of the London Bisexual Group – the first of many bi groups in the UK – so we had a Big Bi Birthday Party.

The BiCon 2011 team were right to look forward to BiCon 2011 being a stunning event 🙂 If you have any questions or feedback please email us on email address removed

Wrapping up BiCon 2011

We know from the feedback forms that many people had a lovely time at BiCon 2011 – thank you for your comments! We also know that due to various issues with the accommodation, some people had a more disrupted BiCon than we would have liked.

During the event, we asked for reports of problems which we used alongside some other issues to provide detailed feedback to Leicester University Conference Services after BiCon was over. We were finally offered a considerable discount to our final bill which we have now accepted. They also promised to take our feedback on board see that the issues are fixed in future.

We will be using some of that money to offer partial refunds as compensation to those of you affected by the problems and will be emailing the attenders affected by issues that we know about with this sometime over the next week.

Attenders being offered refunds will have the following choices:

1) having the money back via BACS or Paypal
2) donating it to the equality fund (which will be ringfenced and passed on to future BiCons)
3) letting it go into the general BiCon surplus.

Due to logistics being too complicated for us and 2012 we can't part pay for your next BiCon, but I'm sure they would be very happy to accept it from you directly… Their bookings page is at http://2012.bicon.org.uk/registration/booking/
