Now is the time…

A plea from your harried BiCon organisers: if you've been meaning to book for a while but haven't quite got around to it, please please please do us a great favour, and get your booking and payment in TODAY.

Latimer taking bookings at BiCon 2010

Latimer says: your BiCon needs YOU

BiCon is now 13 weeks away, and the deadline for booking accommodation is just eight weeks away. We need as many of you as possible to be fully booked and paid up well in advance of that. Not only does this mean that we aren't trying to enter a zillion bookings into our system when BiCon is almost upon us; it also gives us the money to pay the deposit on the venue and meet other expenses that come up before BiCon starts. Don't worry if you don't know who you want to share your flat with yet – we'll sort that out later on. So if you've been meaning to book for a while and haven't quite got around to it, please take just five minutes to do right away, as soon as you finish this post – you'll be helping us a lot!

Making our lives easier

We offer a lot of flexibility in how to book and pay for BiCon, to make it as easy as possible for people to attend. However, some bookings make our lives easier than others! If you're in a position to do things this way, here's how to book for BiCon in the way that gives us the least work to do to process your application:

Step 1: Download the PDF application form from here:

the BiCon booking page

Step 2: Fill the PDF in and save it

If you're booking for more than one person, complete more than one form. Remember, you can change the details of who you're sharing with right up to the accommodation deadline, so don't wait to sort your flat out before booking.

Step 3: Work out how much you're paying

No arithmetic needed: look at the table at the top of page 2 of the booking form and read off your costs.

Step 3: Pay by BACS transfer

That's right: it's easiest for us if you transfer the money to us before emailing us, so we can process your application in one step.

[BACS details removed as we were getting fraudulent transactions off our account] Email us your form and we'll send you the BACS details as soon as we can (please remember we have day jobs so it may be out of office hours or lunch times when we reply).

Please put your name into the BACS reference field so we can identify your payment.

Step 4: Email us

Send an email attaching the saved booking form and including the details of the BACS transfer to email address removed

Step 5: Pat yourself on the back

Volunteer-run events depend on people like you to exist, so thank you. If you booked within minutes of reading this blog post, pat yourself on the back again for defeating the demon procrastination. And breathe a big sigh of relief for turning a thing at the back of your mind that you need to get around to into something that's DONE and SORTED in just five minutes, and helping the community at the same time.

On behalf of BiCon, thank you!

The link to the booking form is wrong in some way, file not found. Otherwise, great & useful post 🙂

Thanks for this comment, I've fixed the broken link and made a few other small updates.
